The story of high school kid and his super hot alien teacher that has no idea how to act around humans and marries her student due to a series of wild misunderstandings. BREATH!
Alright, first off this is not a show for everyone. There is no real action or violence or nudity. But there is a lot of sexual tension between all the characters and even a few events that insinuate inappropriate behavior between high school students and their teachers.
The main character of the series is Kei Kusanagi, a young boy that moved into the a more rural countryside town after witnessing the death of some one close to him. That event triggered a condition in him that causes him to pass out and go comatose for lengths of time making it difficult to live a normal life back home. The condition is later triggered by emotional stress in his life so he tends to be cold and avoid any situations that could lead to him being stressed like dating, fighting or just about anything else that can invoke such a response from the heart.
One night he is relaxing by the lake shore staring at the night sky when he sees an unusual event take place which end with a super hot woman teleporting to the lake shore near him. A really nice opening song play and credits role in front of a very well put together montage of clips from scenes that never happen in the series. Cut to Kei running for his life from the strange lady that teleported in. He runs and trips and falls into the lake and passes out. When he wakes up safe and sound he believes it was all a dream and goes about his day at school until... Surprise! He learns that they have a new teacher taking over for their current one and guess what? It's a woman. A smoking hot woman in her early 20's. And guess what? When she walks into the classroom and Kei sees her he instantly recognizes her as the woman that teleported at the lake. She notices that he recognizes her too but tries to play it off as nothing.
When Kei gets home he finds out that his teacher Mizuho Kazami is moving into the apartment next door. Kei offers to help her move in out of curiosity. As he helps her move a box in they slip and he lands on top of her and she tells him that he has been on her mind which causes him to pass out. When he wakes up she admits to him that last night was real and he freaks. She teleports him to her ship to try to explain to him that he can't tell anyone she is an alien sent to observe the earth.
The rest of the series feeds off a series of misunderstandings that lead Kei and Mizuho into a relationship that boarders on the bizarre. The other characters all have equally interesting stories and relationships and the love triangles make for tense hilarious moments of misunderstanding. Toward the end of the series many of the characters either hook up or break up or get caught up in inappropriate relationships with other characters.
If you're an emotional person there are moments that can cause you to tear up as well, after all this is kind of a chick anime. But most of the guys I know that have watched it including myself have enjoyed it.
I bought this series because I love this type of story. The dialog is not perfect and terms sound a little stupid as well as the catch phrases of Mizuho but overall it's a great show that makes you smile while you watch it. Personally I'd watch it alone for best impact.
